Newly Engaged? Tips to start planning your Wedding Day

It finally happened and we are so excited for you! The one you love has popped the question and you said YES! You have called your best friends and family and posted pictures of your ring on Facebook and Instagram. Calls and tests are flowing in with congrats, how happy everyone is, and the question.. when is the big day? So where do you go from here to start planning your wedding day? Here are a few tips to start your planning!

  • Make a list of dream Wedding
    • You have thought about this day for a long time. Think back about how you dreamed this day would be. Start to jot down these ideas and you will start to see a wedding style start to form. Think about the colors, the vibe you want to have, who you want to have by your side. Make a list of what you need; Venue, Photographer, Videographer, DJ or Band, Caterer, Priest, Dresses, Suits, Rings, etc… We recommend finding a good play list at have fun with it. Pin it, Scrap book it, how ever you want to start planning this is the big first step to your perfect day
  • Budget
    • Now this is a scary one but it is something that needs to be discussed and you want to do it sooner than later. Discuss with both sides of the family if they are willing to contribute to your big day and talk to your fiance and make a plan and come up with an estimated cost on what you can spend on your big day. I promise that this will make your journey to planning your big day easier if you figure this out in the early stages.

  • Create a guest list
    • I highly recommend starting this early so you can determine how many people you are actually inviting so you can keep on budget and determine the size of a venue to look at. Although this can be a daunting task the best way to do it is to sit down with your fiance and start from the core and work outward. Start with immediate family members, close relatives, best friends, distant relatives, family friends, work friends and colleagues. You can always go back and edit this as well but this will get you a starting point.

  •  Where
    • Where do you want to get married? Maybe there is a special location that you and your fiance have that you want to tie the knot? Your home town? Where you spent your summers together? Or maybe you want to travel for a destination wedding. Once you have determined a location it will help you figuring out the other logisits with all your other wedding list items.

  • Booking Other Vendors
    • Once you have determined what vendors you are looking for it is time start to researching them, meet and talk to them about your perfect day and make sure that they are are the perfect fit. Look for vendors with experience and great reviews. Look at there portfolio and websites and find someone that you can make that perfect connection with that with so on your wedding day you know they will take care of it and you can focus on you and your husband on your big day!

These are just a few tips to get you started and not an exact list of steps that need to be taken. Remember to have fun when it comes to planning your wedding day, don’t stress out about things. Enjoy every step of planning with your friends, family and your fiance. The planning portion is all part of the final outcome, your perfect and beautiful wedding day
